TES, a leading specialist in power distribution and water technology, is pleased to announce that it has been acquired by Legrand, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures.
The acquisition marks the beginning of an ambitious new chapter for TES, following a period of exceptional growth. In recent years TES has solidified its reputation as a critical supplier to the European data centre market and the UK and Irish utility sectors, growing revenue to £72m and expanding its workforce to approximately 300 employees.
Headquartered in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, TES has recently significantly increased its manufacturing footprint with the opening of its 300,000 sq. ft. Power Data Centre campus in Co. Derry. This expansion has enabled the business to meet the surging global demand for high-specification low-voltage power distribution equipment.
Brian Taylor, CEO of TES, commented: “Joining Legrand is a landmark moment for TES. Over the past number of years, we have scaled our operations at an incredible pace, and this acquisition is a testament to the hard work and expertise of our entire team. Legrand’s global reach and market-leading position in the electrical sector provide the perfect platform for TES to further expand our international presence. We are excited to bring our bespoke engineering solutions to a wider audience while remaining deeply committed to our roots in Northern Ireland.”
Noel McCracken, Managing Director of TES, added: “Our mission has always been to provide innovative, high-quality engineering for critical infrastructure. With the support of Legrand, we can accelerate our investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing and continue to lead the way in both the water and power critical infrastructure markets.”
During its recent growth phase, TES has also been recognised for its commitment to sustainability and social value, conducting comprehensive carbon emissions audits and launching an award-winning apprenticeship programme that welcomed 30 new recruits in 2025.
As part of Legrand, TES will continue to operate from its existing facilities in Cookstown and Derry, maintaining its commitment to local job creation and its specialist divisions serving the data centre market and the water utility sector.
