Company History

Established in 1999, TES have gained an impressive foothold in the water and power markets.  Servicing Clients throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and Internationally, TES have extensive experience in providing tailored design and project management to every contract.

Entering the world of water and wastewater treatment designing, fabricating, installing and commissioning complex control systems, TES have since built upon the skills and knowledge gained to now offer complete design and build packages, process design, software systems integration and MEICA installation and repair services.

Our experience in power, control and automation has also given TES the opportunity to extend our service offering to the building services sector through our range of HV and LV switchgear. Exceeding industry standards, the TES Switchgear range is built with the same precision and exacting design as our control systems ensuring customers receive exceptional tailored solutions.

Our Milestones

Brian Taylor founds TES and operates as Sole Trader of “Taylor Engineering Services”. Brian designs & builds control panels from a shed in his backyard!

Noel McCracken joins forces with Brian as a Director & TES become a Limited Company.

TES move to larger premises in Cookstown Enterprise Centre. The company now employs 5 people.

TES complete a move to custom built premises at Derryloran Industrial Estate, providing the company with the facilities necessary to continue to grow.

TES recognise a gap in the market for the provision of complete MEICA works to water utilities and quickly gain a strong foothold in the market.

TES open its UK Mainland Division at Silverdale, Staffordshire.

TES are awarded its first international contract, providing MCC’s to a project in Qatar.

Having expanded and filled capacity at Derryloran, TES build a new state-of-the-art facility at Kilcronagh Business Park. The Kilcronagh site becomes the global HQ for TES.

TES begin to manufacture switchgear for the building services sector following a period of R&D and quickly gained a reputation for high quality manufacture of custom designed switchboards.

TES are awarded 3 NI Water Framework contracts; The first long term framework contracts awarded in the history of TES.

TES now have a workforce of 115 employees in a wide range of disciplines including mechanical, electrical, software, process & civil engineers.

The Ulster Bank Business Achievers named TES Best Established SME in Ireland. TES were also named Best Environmental Company at the Mid Ulster Business Awards.

TES are awarded a Community Trademark within the European Union, providing increased protection for the TES brand, products and services.

TES are named as one of the UK’s fastest growing private companies in the inaugural Investec Mid-Market 100 list.

TES are included in London Stock Exchange’s second edition of “1000 Companies to Inspire Britain” report.

TES become members of RoSPA, who are at the heart of accident prevention in the UK and around the world.

TES become Corporate Partner members of Engineers Ireland providing our employees with the network, resources and knowledge required to continue their professional development & achieve Chartered Status.

TES are presented with the ‘Gold’ award at the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards as a result of successfully qualifying for four consecutive years as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies.

Anglian Water announce their new MCC and Controls framework for controls and automation solutions with a new style of collaborative working. TES were selected along with two other manufacturers.

TES were awarded successfully onto a new Irish Water Framework for the provision of Major Process, MEICA and DBO works related to the Water Treatment network in Ireland.

TES were awarded a major project to supply the LV distribution equipment for Phase 2 of a new 3MW data centre being constructed in London, continuing our work within critical infrastructure and data centres.

TES were handed the prestigious RoSPA Gold Award in recognition of its practices and achievements in helping its staff and clients get home safely at the end of the working day.

TES led the way in utilising the latest BIM technology, launching their own BIM Common Data Environment (CDE); Autodesk BIM 360 (later renamed to Autodesk Construction Cloud). 

TES were named as one of Ireland’s Best Managed companies for the seventh year in a row in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards programme.

Celtic Anglian Water, Farrans and TES (FaCT3 Consortium) secured a major upgrade contract to enhance the level of treatment in the existing secondary treatment tanks at the Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant serving the greater Dublin area.

TES continue to successfully deliver data centre projects, designing, manufacturing and delivering LV distribution equipment for a number of new data centre constructions across Europe.

The TES-CAW JV were selected as a Partner to N.I. Water to support the delivery of its £1.2bn Capital Investment Programme through the Major Project Partnering Framework (MPPF).

Due to continued growth within the Data Centre market TES opened a new Data Centre campus in Ballykelly, Co. Derry. The new facility provides TES with the extra capacity required to successfully support clients future growth plans.

NI Water has awarded an ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) contract for the upgrade of Kinnegar Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) and Sydenham Wastewater Pumping Station (WwPS) to an all-Ireland integrated team comprising Farrans Construction, TES-CAW JV and AECOM.

TES are ranked as the 3rd fastest growing business on the prestigious Fast Growth 50 Northern Ireland list, recognising TES’s exceptional growth trajectory over the past number of years.

TES are awarded a new project to supply the LV power distribution equipment for a new 57MW data centre in London.

TES are awarded a new major Framework Contract with Thames Water for the provision of MEICA services on non-infrastructure projects, which has a value of up to £5m.
