TES Group contribute to new Renewable Energy Centre in Holbrook area of Sheffield.
The Holbrook Community Renewable Energy CHP Centre, is a green energy / biomass facility based in Sheffield, which will generate over 6.5 Megawatts of renewable electricity (green energy).
The centre has been built as combined heat and power (CHP) ‘ready’ facility with the potential to supply heat to almost 10,000 local homes and commercial properties throughout Sheffield.
The Holbrook Community Renewable Energy CHP Centre is expected to cut greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 12,700 tonnes of CO2e per year, the equivalent of taking 5,700 cars off the road for the life of the project.
Regarding the project, Steve McMullan, a Birmingham-based BTG Corporate Finance director, said “Sheffield has always been very supportive of green energy and would like to become one of the first self-sufficient cities in the UK. This project is aligned with that strategy”
TES Group were awarded the contract for LV distribution for the facility. The Contract Works included the following; Main LV Switchboard, Emergency Board, UPS Board, Stand-Alone PFC, Transformers to the panel bus bar connections, along with a full testing and commissioning package.
