TES completes PDU’s and Critical Ventilation control units for the European Market
TES was recently awarded multiple projects to supply Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and Critical Ventilation control units to a European company to facilitate with the completion of their high-profile European Data Centres.
TES floor-mounted PDUs can supply power to multiple racks and cabinets in a large data centre. Branch circuit monitoring, power conditioning and monitoring are all capable within our design and can be customised to suit the requirements of our clients.
Our PDU range consists of our European Range (IEC) and our PowerPro Range (UL).
Within this recent European Market project, TES was required to manufacture PDU’s to the following specifications and features:
- Small Footprint designs for complex space constraints
- Minimized downtime for loads during maintenance
- Safeguard Incoming Supply utilising Rack Mounted Static Transfer Switches for minimal switching time (3P or 4P) and uninterrupted load
- Cable management with segregated distribution board section and outgoing cable terminal section
- Wide range of Incoming Metering
- Panel mounted controls, indications and alarm systems which are interlinked to BMS
- Optional Metering of final circuits for added intelligence
Critical Ventilation control units
TES’s floor/wall-mounted Critical Ventilation control units were put in place for temperature and humidity regulation, airflow management, energy efficiency, and overall data centre reliability with our client’s transformer rooms.
TES implemented a bespoke client specification for their IEC Critical Ventilation Control Unit. These features included:
- Form 2a
- IP Rating – IP54
- VFD Controlled ventilation system
- Main cooling – Monitoring Temperature within the room via a linear analogue thermostat
- Backup Cooling – Thermostat designed to switch to initiate cooling in the event of failure of the main thermostat
- Cooling VFD speed increase/decreases linearly with temperature fluctuations
- Delay on cooling shutoff within both Main/Backup scenarios
- Fully ventilated Panels to ensure longevity
- Utilising full HMI displays with simulation mode for commissioning/testing purposes
- Engineering Password protection configurable set points
Craig Downey, Electrical Design Manager at TES, who has been overseeing the European Data Centre Projects, comments, “Our team at TES is delighted to continue this invaluable relationship with this client and to provide high-quality product and technical expertise at a cost-effective price.”
