TES have just recently returned from a trade mission in the Latin American country of Colombia. The trade mission, which was organised by Invest NI and the UKTI saw a number of leading UK companies make the trip to Bogota; Colombia’s largest city.
This is latest export market targeted by TES as it aims to become the world’s largest water and power solutions provider and follows successful similar trips to the Middle East and North Africa over the past two years. TES viewed the trade mission as an excellent opportunity to carry out further research into the water and wastewater infrastructure and to create long-term relationships with key-decision makers in the region.
Colombia is the third largest population in Latin America with the local government recently launching ambitious investment programmes, including a targeted spend of $100 billion of investments in infrastructure over the next eight years. The country also benefits from being one of the most open markets in Latin America with eleven Free Trade Agreements in place.
Commenting on the trip TES Chairman, Brian Taylor said “following substantial research into the Latin America market we identified Colombia as a country with massive potential for the unique range of TES products and services. Our visit was extremely positive with a number of positive meetings taking place and we will be back in Colombia again very soon”.
