TES have recently completed the design and build of two new Wastewater Treatment Plants on behalf of Irish Water in Co. Mayo. The Belcarra and Lahardane WwTP’s were required to meet National and European environmental legislation with TES selected as the design and built contractor following a competitive tender process. TES are also responsible for the operation of both Belcarra WwTP and Lahardane WwTP for a period of 3 months.
The new Belcarra WwTP included the following;
- Maintain current treatment levels during Design Build stage.
- Inlet flow measurement and sampling.
- New primary settlement tanks.
- New forward feed pump station.
- New Rotating biological contactor.
- New Secondary settlement tank.
- New sludge return pump station.
- Provision for sludge holding.
- Final effluent flow measurement and sampling.
- Refurbishment of existing control building.
- Design and manufacture of new MCC.
- New surface drainage, surfacing, landscaping and fencing.
The new Lahardane WwTP included;
- New 6mm automatic inlet spiral screen.
- Inlet flow measurement and sampling.
- New inlet pump station with provision for storage.
- New chemical dosing package with bunded storage.
- New emergency shower and eyewash.
- New fine bubble diffused aeration (FBDA) system.
- New secondary settlement tank.
- New sludge waste/return pump station.
- Sludge holding tank.
- New final effluent (washwater) pump station.
- Final effluent flow measurement and sampling.
- Refurbishment of existing control building.
- Design and manufacture of new MCC.
- New surface drainage, surfacing, landscaping and fencing.
The TES team were responsible for all works under the projects including civil, mechanical and process design, civil works, MEICA works and operation of the plants.
