TES are reaffirming our commitment to working with clients, partners, suppliers and other companies within our industry to inspire climate action ahead of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) event, to be held later this year in Glasgow, which aims to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
TES have in place a Carbon Zero Initiative, which targets achieving net zero carbon by 2040, our efforts towards this goal have already seen a substantial CO2 reduction in the past number of years. 100% of energy consumed by TES office and manufacturing facilities is already powered by renewable energy and a 30% reduction in energy consumption has been achieved through the use of Low Energy LED lighting, automatically switching off unused lighting by installing PIR sensors, installing additional thermostats in all areas of the factory to regulate the heating.
As we work towards our target of zero carbon by 2040 we are no focusing on a number of key areas including;
Developing carbon product data information for products / services
TES record, maintain & review carbon product data for our Co2 emissions, both operational & embedded. We are in the process of gathering carbon footprint data on components & materials to further enhance our efforts in this regard.
Establish a baseline
TES are working towards establishing more definitive baselines within each department of the business to pinpoint where improvements can be made.
Develop reporting
With Reporting systems already firmly established within TES (with Co2 being collated & reviewed at Board Meetings) we aim to further enhance and develop the data and metrics we are using to drive further CO2 reductions. TES will continue to review & put improvement measures in place to ensure our reporting systems & procedures contribute to the decarbonisation of the company.
Set & monitor targets for carbon reduction
The ultimate target is firmly set at Net Zero. This is what TES will strive for. An incremental approach is taken with annual targets clearly stipulated to meet this. Targets will be clearly communicated throughout the organisation, so that our Zero-Carbon Culture is adopted by employees & supply partners alike. It is only with buy-in from all parties, that carbon reduction can be successfully achieved.
